'Serpentine' - a limited edition print of a rose

Unfurling to reveal it’s innermost self. I love the way the tightness of the  rosebud gradually unravels to reveal the complex layers of a fully formed rose.

‘Serpentine’, an orange rose limited edition print

This orange rose limited edition print has been reproduced from a photograph of an original oil painting by Karen Hollis.

This painting is one of a selection based on the orange rose which is called ‘Just Joey’. The rose has a very strong growth and beautiful fragrance. Fully open the blooms are about 5 inches in diameter. It was created in 1972 by Cants of Colchester in the United Kingdom. The inspiration behind this painting was to ehance the flow of the petals as they unfurl. Showing how the flat of the open petals leads us into the orange rose bud. Karen Hollis

This rose limited edition print is one of a set of three paintings that were created from the ‘Just Joey’ rose using the same colour palette – ‘Serpentine’, ‘Affection’ and ‘Curvaceous’.

Hollis specialises in bright, bold floral paintings that are flooded with light. Her pictures of flowers capture the viewer and draw them in. A statement piece for any wall.
